I have been participating in a class where the theme has been on on accentuating the positive and focusing on the blessings in our lives as opposed to the fears that we all have. Fear shows up for each of us in many ways. Many times we tell our selves stories, like the ones you see below. They are not the real truth to our own authenticity, but rather lies we tell ourselves. We have a tendency to downplay the abundant blessings that we all have and allow fear to get in the way of being who we were meant to be. FEAR is really False, Evidence Appearing Real.
I will NOT throw away my confidence, it will be richly rewarded. I will persevere so that when I have done the will of God, I will receive what he has promised. Hebrewes 10:35-36
Here is an except from Renee Swope’s book, A confident heart. When we find ourselves in a situation where we are discouraged and say some of these things to ourselves, it is important to know that God encourages us to focus on the Truth. He says: I AM THE WAY, THE TRUTH and THE LIFE. Lean on him and find the truth in our beings. It does us no good to focus on the stories we tell ourselves. Be confident in who you are and always look to your higher power when you get stuck and He will lead your path.
